Cheryl Lynn Morris My elderly cat Missy is still with me. She refused to eat her prescription canned cat food and so I was feeding her by hand. The vet said to let her eat anything she wants.

Ali Hi new animal friends! I want to share a great non-profit started by my 7 year old daughter, now 11. Check it out, sign our guestbook, say hello on FB. And of course share it with your friends. www.peaceforpuppies.org We have a little hava-a-poo we rescued after she was thrown away when her new owners didn't want to treat her kennel cough from the pet store they bought her from. We have had her close to 2 years now and she definitely rescued us!

Cheryl Lynn Morris My black British Shorthair cat Missy will be 16 years old on July 10th! She's become one of the frail elderly, needing prescription medications (in liquid suspensions, which she takes better than any pill--thanks to Professional Arts Pharmacy in Baltimore, Maryland (http://www.professionalarts.com/ServiceAreas/ServiceAreas.asp). Now I'm working on getting her to eat prescription dry cat food, and prescription canned cat food.

Katy Janssen Hi guys! Any horse lovers out here? :) Just wanted to share where we buy our equine products... I recommend their medications. We used to have a colicky horse, then we used their medications and ordered it online. You might want to check it out too: http://bit.ly/c0GI1Y

Ryan Paugh I just got the best early Christmas present. Ever. My girlfriend got me a 3-year-old rescued English Bulldog. Her name is Lucy and she's awesome. It's a great time for me to have a pet because I'm working location independent and she just hangs out next to me while I talk to all of you guys. Any of you guys have a pet that keeps you company while you work?

Aida at Citi I have a two year old weimaraner who I have spent lot's of time training and he is a great well behaved dog (baby). When he was very young he would bite the corners of his dog pillow and end up destroying them. Finally he learned to stop doing that! Or so I thought...the other day I caught him bitting the corner of his bed again!! Do any of you have this problem? I can't keep buying him beds! By the way, he does not chew on anything else that is not his and he has plenty of toys! I don't get it.

I guess I assumed he wouldn't want to lay in it if I did. I'll give it a try and see how it goes. Thanks!

Laura Benson-Hadley Hello, pet lovers!! I recently relocated (with my wonderful cat Lovey and blue tongue skink Moochie) to the Milwaukee area from Indianapolis due to marriage, and I'm looking to network--for friends and a job. It's been really tough being out of work, and I'd love to meet some new people and get some extra support during this tough time. Hope to hear back from some people soon! :o)

Marie McKinney-Oates My in-laws are leaving their dog (a chihuahua) with us for the rest of the year and we have 2 cats. Is there any way for us to all just get along, or are the cats just going to have to deal with hiding in our bedroom for the rest of the year? What I'd like to see is for the cats to realize they are bigger than this dog and could own him if they wanted to, but I don't think they've understood my coaching thus far ("Nala, you're bigger, you're stronger, and gosh darnit, people like you!")

Marie McKinney-Oates: Rebecca and Barbie, thanks so much for the suggestions! I'll be trying them this weekend and report on the progress.

He hid for a while, but once he realized that we would not let the dogs hurt him he now roams around without issue. I think the best way is to make sure that when the dog is around the cat that you are very quick to remove him from the cats if he starts to get a little out of control that way the cats will see that you are in control of the situation and they have nothing to worry about.

Hi everybody, I was hoping somebody could give me some more information about training dogs in prison. I've read that those programs are a huge succes in the States and Australia and since we don't have them in Belgium I was interested in doing some research to start it up here. Can somebody help me with this or knows somebody who can give me more informations?

They live with the inmates, who work with them on basic acclimation and obedience. When they "graduate," they are adopted out into a home. Neither of my greys come from a prison program, but the programs are phenomenal! Unfortunately, many of them are being shut down due to funding issues. :(

Elizabeth Reiter Just before our vet re-check yesterday my dog ripped her bandage off and chewed an even bigger, bloodier hole in her paw. We are now bandaging for several more weeks. This includes putting a plastic IV bag over her paw every time she goes out to keep the bandages from getting wet. Pets. Gotta love 'em!

Cheryl Lynn Morris: I know what you mean. I'm supposed to get one antibiotic pill into my cat Missy each day, but she's a finicky eater, etc. so it's a real struggle.

Cheryl Lynn Morris My 14-year old black British Shorthair cat named Missy had pink urine this morning, so I took her to the vet. Missy was tentatively diagnosed as having a urinary tract infection (no cancer masses or kidney stones showed up on the x-rays). We're home again and I have pills to grind up and put in her food. Monday, we'll get the test results back.

I already have 3 very active dogs that keep me hopping and I'm curious, is it a ton of work to keep up with all those animals? I'd have an entire zoo if it were up to me! But, need time to make a living, too...

Karla Mercado My beagle loves the snow, but I always make sure he's all warm and dry after playing in our backyard. Keep your pets warm this holiday season! As much as possible, no baths! Keep their food dishes full, as they tend to eat more when cold.
