But I'm already working as an accounting clerk. It's hard trying to find positions to gain experience when you have none. It's like a Catch-22. But definitely work your network. And look at small places as well as bigger ones, since I think they're more open-minded to newbies like us. You could try freelancing and volunteer work to gain experience, too.

Getting the chance to talk about yourself beyond the usual cover letter and resume really helps. Having them hear your voice and what you say fleshes you out more.

I tried to spend some time each day studying but it was difficult with work, etc. I think a study group that meets once a week or so where you can get together and hold one another accountable would be helpful. What section are you preparing for?
