Heather Conroy Focus on your future every day. Thirty minutes to one hour is sufficient. Ask yourself what do I like doing? What have I done today that will get me closer to that goal? Read books, magazines, write, make phone calls, read job boards or do something related to what you want in this time. If you want to earn more money, or to be financially independent focus on ways to get out of debt and learn how to manage your money. Set this time aside regularly- every day if possible. It works.

I ...MoreI have always agreed with this concept. My problem comes in sometimes when I literally don't know what some of the solutions to my problems are. I am not unwilling to make a plan, change course, or go the extra yard for something I want or need. I just run into difficulty knowing where to start sometimes.

For example to get out of debt I did a google search for strategies. This lead me to Zen Habits where I applied the debt snowball to my debts. I also bought and read several books recommended by Leo Babatua and I tried another strategy from these books. This led me to a system that I use now-Bill payment system and payday planner- which really works for me. I have paid off one loan and my credit card in 2 years. Now I am focussing on saving. I review my money situation most days.
I have other plans and it makes me happy to be moving in the right direction. By focussing on each of them regularly I find strategies and resources that help me move towards accomplishing my goals.
