Following an MBA from McGill University, he joined the Caldwell Partners, an executive search firm. During five years of practice, he worked with thousands of candidates and clients, learning what separated successful job seekers from those struggling in the market. He then began an online recruitment firm, which he sold to Monster. At Monster, Ian assumed leadership of the company's self-employment market, and later had group responsibility for the executive marketplace and other markets. Following his work at Monster, he founded BoldCareer.
