I live in a town where business administration is in high demand and my background is in that field out of necessity. I am a creative person so it's killing me. How do I change the employment agencies mindset to see me in the latter light?

Provide them with a functional resume that highlights your creative skills and experience. Place them in the context of how they have helped you contribute to the bottom line. Request a sit down meeting with your recruiter to go over the new resume and further explain what you're looking for in your next position.

Make sure, however, that they keep your business administration resume active. You may find that if you emphasize the creative aspects too heavily, you could be out of work in this economy. At the moment, it may be necessary to take a business admin job for the paycheck, and fulfill your creative ambitions through hobbies and volunteer work.
