In terms of locating firms which are hiring, I would recommend the traditional route of meeting with recruiting firms. Get in front of headhunters who may have leads to openings. Remain open minded regarding any job the agents may offer at the start even if it is a temporary role.

The job boards are sometimes helpful, but can be discouraging for most, as the response is often nil or slow. If you decide to post your CV online, make certain that you include keywords on your resume so that yours will be noticed if it later gets scanned into a database.
Although people can get hired without professional connections, as a former search executive, I believe that well over 75% of jobs are filled by personal referral. If you do not have relationships to local staffing firms, begin to ask around for help. Use LinkedIn, Facebook, alumni discussion boards and any associations you may belong to. Regardless of their geographic location, include all those within your email files, holiday card list, and cell phone directory. Make a list of everyone that you know. Tell them in a short note where you've landed geographically and if they may have contacts in your new location.
If you manage to secure time with any potential leads for an exploratory discussion, give your 15secondpitch, and ask the referrals if they know of any openings. Even if they don't have an immediate suggestion, they'll likely remember you the next time they hear about something.
Overall, remain positive and optimistic. Although the energy in the markets is quite negative, think abundance, not scarcity. Your beliefs and state of mind will play into your ability to attract more possibilities as you navigate your way.
