
Try something like this: "And, it's kind of unfortunate how awkward the whole team has become." Next, move on to talk about how you might avoid conflict in the future, something like, "I'd really like to avoid escalating again. How about if we find a time to talk about how we can work things out more smoothly in the future? When might you have some time do that?" If you've been moderately conciliatory in your tone, your coworker is less likely to reply, "Never." If you do happen get a negative response, then you can add, "Hey, I'd really like to improve things between us. What would it take for that to happen?"
