I live in a town where business administration is in high demand and my background is in that field out of necessity. I am a creative person so it's killing me. How do I change the employment agencies mindset to see me in the latter light?

I'd suggest changing your expectations regarding employment agencies. It's in their nature, and best financial interest, to pair the most qualified candidates with the jobs they have in their listings.

When you don't get a second interview, follow up by email or phone and just ask what happened. Make it clear that you're not questioning their decision or trying to change anyone's mind - you're just looking for feedback to help you improve your interviewing skills. Not everyone will answer, but some will and you might get enough information to start making some changes.

It may be time to get some outside perspective on your interviewing skills and style. It is difficult to know what you are doing or not doing in interviews that is not getting the second interview without very direct feedback.

I think that the bigger question here is, "Are you learning and growing at your current role?" If the answer is yes, and the projects you have been handed are fulfilling, then it is worthwhile to stay with your current firm and begin to take ownership of your career.

Definitely stay where you are. It's rare to find a manager who gives you expanded responsibilities, stretch assignments, praises your work, and goes in to bat for you to be promoted.

Definitely don't turn down additional responsibilities just because you're not getting the promotion. That would just be cutting off your nose to spite your face because the new projects will teach you a lot and make you more valuable - both to your current employer and to any future employers.

I am 26 and work with many people more experienced than me. I’d like to be the reverse mentor of 2 directors at my company, and they’ve agreed. What’s the next step? How do I create goals and deliverables? What can I mentor them on besides Technology?

I'd suggest educating them on the perspective of younger workers. Often times bridging generational gaps can be harder from the older to the younger crowd. Giving them some insight into your perspective and those of your peers can be very valuable.

First of all, when you talked to them about this, what exactly did they agree to? You'll want to set expectations upfront in terms of how often you will meet and what you will discuss. With respect to the value you can provide to them, good for you for thinking about this right off the bat.
