Back in March, I had a really terrible week. My paper got rejected and I realized I wasn’t going to be able to finish this semester, and the following day, my boyfriend and I broke up.

We’re overeducated and underexperienced, when really it should be the other way around.

It’s a pity - and a case of misallocated resources - considering higher education is getting more and more expensive while salaries are not really keeping up in these economic times.

The Obama administration recently came out with their replacement for the No Child Left Behind education reform. However, even the name of the program, Race to the Top, doesn’t inspire my confidence in the program.

I spent four years at a university that I fell in love with, and I am the kind of person that is known to sing the praises of my school loud and proud. During the time I was there, I became part of the school and the school became part of me.

Two years later, I’m no longer a student. I’m an alumnus.

Two years later, and I’m also an adult. I’ve changed cities, jobs, friends, lifestyles.

I know I'm in love with the free market and all - but I'm just super confused by all the people who are freaking out about privatizing the busing in my (Royal Oak, MI) school district when there is essentially no other option anyway since the system is bankrupt.
