Lea Woodward

Lea Woodward is a modern nomad - who lives a life of permanent travel at the same time as running a business.

After working as a management consultant at Accenture straight after graduation, she escaped the rat race for a complete change of pace (to become a personal trainer) before finally unleashing her inner geekiness and setting up a Branding & Online Marketing consultancy with her husband, Jonathan.

Since leaving the UK in 2007 she's lived in and run the business from Panama, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Grenada (Caribbean), Dubai, South Africa and Thailand...with plenty more places on the itinerary still to come. She's written a book on the subject of becoming 'location independent' to help others with nomadic tendencies, do what she's done.

An avid blogger, she currently has 4 of her own and blogs in several other places on the 'net - yes she loves it that much!

When you run your own business there is no-one telling you what to do nor how to do it; there’s no-one nagging you to work on your client pipeline nor telling to you get off Facebook and go do some work. There is no-one streamlining your processes nor checking the quality of your output.

I am constantly amazed and astounded at how some people in the business world get by with I.T. skills so minimal they can barely switch their computer on without tech support (slight exaggeration I know, but not far off).

I read on someone’s blog last week that traditional business models are as good as dead and that these days you can’t make as much money unless you’re into online business models or property.
