Erik Folgate

Erik Folgate lives in Jacksonville, Florida with his beautiful wife and crazy dog. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2005 with a business degree, and moved to Jacksonville to pursue a better position in the insurance industry. In his spare time, he loves playing sports, working out, reading, blogging and playing Xbox 360 (Call of Duty 4 in particular!).

Erik has a strong passion for helping others find the career that they were made to be in, because he was one of those people that never had a clear direction with where they fit in the "real world". He has a lot of professional interests and passions, but there was no college major that really captured him. He started realizing in conversations with friends and family that he has a strong desire to coach others find the passions inside of them and turn those passions into a rewarding and fulling career. The ErikFolgate.com career development blog was started to be a resource for those seeking a meaningful and fulfilling career.

Erik Folgate's blog is Earn What You are Worth.

Career coach, J.T. O’Donnell, asked me this question a comment she posted on the site. What are your thoughts/suggestions on ways for college students to narrow down the endless possibilities in order to focus on a career path so they can network and land a job? I didn’t start caring about politics or forming an opinion about it until I left school. I started teaching […]

Graduating from high school or college is a scary thing. You have relatives and friends constantly asking about your future plans, job offers, job leads, and anything else you don’t want to talk about in small conversation. I’ve mentioned before on this site that formal education doesn’t teach us how or where to […]
