I just watched Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican National Convention tonight. In case you’ve been sleeping under a rock, Palin is the Vice Presidential pick for John McCain in his run for the White House.
Here are my initial thoughts: Sarah Palin may have been great on the PTA. She may be great in hockey […]
Sarah Palin may represent one example of a modern woman, but painting her as the next Rosie the Riveter doesn’t work for me. We can’t pretend to elect the face of feminism without also representing its true values.
I almost combusted into a million feminist pieces after I heard about the Vice-Presidential pick of Gov. Sarah Palin from Alaska as the running mate for Republican Presidential Nominee, John McCain.
Thanks to Alice Backer from Kiskeyacity for sharing this absurdity alert with me via Twitter:
Man calls 911 after Subway left sauce off sandwich
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville police say Reginald Peterson needs to learn that 911 is not the appropriate place to complain that Subway left the sauce off a spicy Italian sandwich.

It is slowly coming to my attention that I need to dedicate further resources to studying the absurd advertisements on Craiglist. As if the “Copy-Writer Position” asking for a grammatically oriented security guard wasn’t absurd enough, I was just alerted to this post: Looking for Sunday thru Wednesday girlfreind - 24.
Word on the street is that presidential candidate Barack Obama may be planning an appearance at Lollapalooza, the three-day rock festival happening Aug. 1-3 in Chicago’s Grant Park. This would be a great way for Obama, fulfilling the role of “entertainer-in-chief“, to capitalize on the on-going musical tributes, melodies and mashup’s contributing to the success of his campaign.
As I become known for the fanatical use of my Blackberry, the ability to Tweet and Flickr from anywhere, in addition to jet-setting at web 2.0 conferences - I begin to wonder: is this really the best use of my time, and intellect?
Instead of showing off his seventysomething self, John McCain is glittering the screens of YouTube with images of his twentysomething self. By running political advertisements with photos of him in uniform to accentuate his service record and gain recognition for being a POW makes sense. But it also appears a bit superficial…
Bridging the gender gap in politics is not impossible; it just takes a little creativity. If Hillary Clinton took a few cues from Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, or Charlotte, could she have locked down the Democratic Presidential nomination?
Have you found “The She Spot” yet? If not, well then I feel really sorry for you. And no, I’m not talking about a new female erogenous zone. I’m talking about the new book written by Lisa Witter and Lisa Chen.
