Carla Blumenthal

Carla is graduating in May 2008 from James Madison University (JMU) with a double major in Communication Studies and Technical and Scientific Communication and a minor in European Marketing.

In the summer of 2007, Carla interned in the public relations department of an international fashion company in New York City. In the summer of 2006, Carla studied marketing in Antwerp, Belgium and traveled extensively throughout Europe. Carla is the Senior Speech Consultant at JMU’s Communication Resource Center where she aids students with presentational speaking.

Carla is enthusiastic to write about her love for social media, millennials and life with her group blog, Life Before Noon. In addition to blogging, Carla enjoys laughter, dancing, New York City, running and good conversations.

After graduation, Carla will be moving to Boston to attend Emerson College’s Global Marketing Communication & Advertising Master of Arts program.

After entering the corporate world, I have been thinking about how our language and word choice affects who we are, or mostly importantly who we claim to be. But as I continued to reflect, I realized that language is just as dynamic as the people speaking it. As technology and marketing evolve rapidly, so will our vernacular.
