1. Do you call people by their twitter handle, even when it isn’t their name?
Double nerd: Have you had several conversations with a person on Twitter and still don’t know their real name?
2. Would you be more excited to meet Mark Zuckerberg, Laura Fitton, Dennis Crowley, Biz Stone, Evan Williams, or Jeff Pulver than a professional athlete or Hollywood actor?
Double nerd: Have you ever called in sick because you realize there is a social media event that they’re speaking at that you weren’t told to go to?
3. Do your friends worry about what happened to you when you don’t check into Foursquare for a day?
Double nerd: Do you go to the gym, eat pizza, or go to Fenway Park just to get the Gym Rat, Pizzaiolo, or TLC Summer Badge?
4. Do you have the Lakers badge on Foursquare instead of the Celtics badge… even though you are really a Boston sports fan… just to see what your friends and followers say?
Double nerd: Do you have both Lakers and Celtics badges, just to have more badges?
5. Would you rather go to SxSW than the Caribbean?
Double nerd: Are you planning to go to SxSW even though your friends/significant other are going to the Caribbean?
6. Are you counting down the days to the premiere of the The Social Network (The Facebook Movie)?

7. Does it takes you 10 minutes to blog about being a social media nerd?
Double nerd: Have you forgotten to get off the train at your stop because you were typing a blog post about being a social media nerd?
Per #1, When I was heavily involved in Livejournal, I found I'd refer to people by their LJ usernames versus their real names almost 100% of the time.
Holiday seasons were the funniest: Everyone would mail cards to each other with their LJ names in parentheses in case you weren't sure who that first and last name on the address label belonged to.
