On Wednesday, August 18, we'll be hosting our first-ever Meetup Everywhere event where Brazen members in the same city rally together offline to answer life's hard-hitting questions. Together. Then later, bring what they discovered back online to share with the community at large.
We're calling it our "Crowdsource Your Career" monthly networking event.
Ready to get started? Here's what you'll need to do ...
Step One: Create/Find an event in your city.
We’re using Meetup Everywhere to make this movement spread like wildfire. Sites like Mashable and TechCrunch already use it to bring their followers together offline. And if they can do it, I have to believe that our tight-knit community can do it better.
Meetups are already forming. So before you jump head-first into creating one in your city, make sure that one isn't already being organized at a location near you. Here are a few cities where meetups are already happening:
- Washington, D.C.
- Austin, TX
- Dallas, TX
- Pittsburgh, PA
- Miami, FL

Step Two: Discuss what it means to "take control of your career."
Meet anywhere—a bar, a local park, your apartment—and discuss what you've done (or plan on doing) to keep yourself in the driver's seat of your own life. We're a community go-getters. We don't wait for permission to do something. We just do it. So what does controlling your career (and your life!) mean to you?
Step 3: Document your conversations.
Find an attendee with a camcorder, Flip, web cam or other recording device and have them film your group talking about your topic. There are no rules for how you decide to record. It can be one person talking, the entire group or something totally unique. Be creative. And most importantly, have fun!
Here's the coolest part ...
At the end of the event we'll be reaching out to each of the event organizers to collect your groups footage so we can put together a montage video of what we, as a community, created through having intelligent conversations with one another.
People used to answer these questions in solitude, but things are different now. We manage our careers collaboratively and we know we don’t have all the answers by ourselves. Together we can begin to answer the toughest questions like how you craft a life, how you forge a path, how you figure out what it means to be you – and then, how to get paid for it.

Thanks guys for setting up so many events. Singapore. Paris. London. Awesomeness! I can't wait to see everyone's footage! I'm going to do what I can on my end to push local members to your events. Here are some ideas for what you can do on your end.
1) Post a link to your local event on Twitter, Facebook and your city's local network on Brazen.
2) Start talking to people who have RSVPed and ask them to spread the word.
