The first two months of being a blogger are the hardest because it feels like nobody is listening. That's why most blogs don't last more than two months. We want to help you avoid that peril by introducing your posts to a community of peers early on and keep you blogging for years to come!

The first step is to import your blog through your Manage Feeds page. Then, follow these tips for making sure that your blog posts get Featured.

Have a catchy title.

The title of your post is the first thing that our Editor sees when seeking out feature-worthy content. Sometimes the best writers get skipped over because we couldn't tell what their post was going to be about from the title. We don't mean for this to happen, but with thousands of blog posts pouring into Brazen every month our Editors would be making some serious overtime if we asked them to read everything.

A catchy title isn't as difficult to come up with as you might think. Here are some of my recent favorites from a few talented Brazen Bloggers:

Write about topics that are relevant to your peers.

When I started blogging, the hardest part was trying to figure out what I could write about that people would actually want to read. With all of the great discussions happening on Brazen Careerist I never have a problem finding something compelling to write about anymore.

Spend some time getting active in the discussions occurring throughout the site and you'll quickly realize that mulling over relevant topics is a thing of the past. The community is chock-full of great ideas. Here are some great discussions happening right now:

Talk to Team Brazen!

Even with a catchy title and a relevant topic it's easy for great bloggers to slip through the cracks. If you feel like you've gone unnoticed send me a Private Message and let me know!

Sometimes all you need to do in order to make something happen is to ask. The worst thing we will say is No, and we rarely say No.

What if I don't have a blog?

We accept guest posts all the time. Just shoot me a message with a few ideas in mind of what you'd like to write about and I'll help you figure out a good angle.

One of my favorite parts about being the Community Director for Brazen Careerist is having the opportunity to help you all succeed as bloggers. Don't hesitate to use me as a resource.

Don't hesitate to utilize your fellow Brazen members as well. Here are a few networks for bloggers that you might consider joining if you haven't already done so:

Happy Blogging!

All I get are error messages when I try and submit a feed for http://www.8womendream.com/feed or http://www.8womendream.com/feed/rss - both feeds are generated with Wordpress - your system keeps rejecting them. Any thoughts on how to make this work? Thank you - Catherine

@Catherine -- One of our dev guys just took care of this for you. Something about an invalid title tag...I'm not sure exactly...but it works! Go check out your recent activity and you should see that your posts are starting to get pulled in.

If anyone else is having feed problems you can let us know in the Community Feedback Network. Our dev team is keeping an eye out for members who are having problems >> http://www.brazencareerist.com/network/brazen-community-feedback

This may be a technically novice question but here goes. I set up the feed for my blog. Now, where is it feeding to exactly? I'd like to see where other blogs are feeding and also to see if mine there.

Thanks.

Whenever you become a Fan of somebody their new blog posts will appear in your Fan Feed. If you'd like to see all of the posts that are being submitted to Brazen you can do that through our Full-Community Feed >> http://www.brazencareerist.com/community

Are you experiencing information overload yet? :)

Let me know if that makes sense.

Too many blogs; too much information - whoever is gonna read it all?

06.08.10

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for clearing this up. Yes, it makes sense. Not at information overload yet but after I read all these blogs, ask me again ;0
