Often times, those who have gone before, done and experienced that which is worth admiration are the ones worth listening to. William Schawbel, founder and CEO of The Schawbel Corporation, during an interview lead by his nephew Dan Schawbel, said the following:
Wherever you start, do the best you can. While you are looking at your current job, look at where you really want to go in the future. Build relationships with as many people as you can, who perhaps are like minded. Get involved as early as possible in giving back in the community. That involvement has a real value, both from an ethical point of view, but also, from a strategic networking point of view. Don’t be afraid to fail. Take chances. If you fail, you can come back from it. If you never try anything, you don’t go anywhere.
