The sad thing is that many do not realize the pit falls of law school. People should research it before applying. I would also like to point out that the landscape was a bit different when I went through the application process and started law school. Do I regret law school, not really. I experienced certain things I may not have gotten to experience, and I learned a new way of thinking. I can not watch TV without thinking of every possible crime a person is committing on a show, but I hear you learn to tune that out after a while.
Bottom line, research it and go for the right reasons.
@ Andrew "Research it and go for the right reasons". Absolutely true. I feel like regardless of what's going on in the Economy, it wouldn't make sense for me to invest money and forego a few more years of income AND practical experience in the job market to go to grad school without knowing why I'm going and how it fits into my career goals. If you're trying to figure out what you want to do with yourself (as so many young people are), why would you jump into paying to specialize in something? It may be the harder decision to make but I'm choosing not to go straight to graduate school when I graduate because when I do go to grad school, I want to know I'm making that investment for the right reasons.
