Last year, I wrote a post a couple days before the end of the year about Old Year’s Resolutions. Instead of tackling the big hairy year-long odyssey that is a New Year’s Resolution, why not start with making one change for the end of the year?
I didn’t figure out or stumble upon the concept until December 29 last year, so this year I have a head start. I think one month is a nice round goal for self-improvement. Look at the success of NaNoWriMo, even if I didn’t succeed this year. It’s easier to gear yourself up for one month of work or change rather than 12.
So my Old Year’s Resolution is to take more photos or video. I want to publish a photo or video to the web every day. If I make it to December 31st (and there’s a photo for every day), who knows, maybe my New Year’s Resolution will be to tackle Project 365. And if I do, I have a great head start.
I know tackling self-improvement for law students is kind of tricky in December, with finals smack dab in the middle. But maybe your Old Year’s Resolution (OYR) is to read more for pleasure. Aim for just 30 minutes a day until finals are over and then you can ramp it up. And if you can read during finals, you can read anytime.
Share your Old Year’s Resolutions below. I might come back here for updates but I bet most will be on Fearful Tumbles.
