Really interesting post and insight. I see the main reason for the popularity of the JD-MBA is that candidates can't make up their minds yet and want to hedge their bets. The work you do to help candidates pick one or the other and this post looks like very sound advice.
I don't support this combination since there are few to no careers that truly use the skills from both. There is an opportunity to take MBA electives during law school so you don't need the full MBA to get the knowledge.
