Because there are no rules for coffee drinkers, I decided to write some. Follow them to improve your coffee drinking experience. Don’t follow at your own risk.

coffee 5 rules

1) Learn to enjoy coffee in its true state: Black.

2) Whenever possible, buy whole coffee beans and grind them right before brewing. Instant coffee isn’t coffee.

3) Don’t reheat coffee in the microwave. Nuked coffee is no substitute for fresh brewed.

4) Never use powdered non-dairy creamer. Does anyone truly know what is in that stuff?

5) Don’t breathe in peoples faces with your coffee breath. This is especially true if you just downed some stale gas station coffee out of that dirty plastic mug you keep in your truck.

Have a rule you feel should be added to this list? Let me know. Go here for some info on storing coffee so that it stays fresh, since fresh is best.

Rule #6: you're only an addict if you get caught drinking coffee in a janitor's closet out of a mug hidden in a brown paper bag... at 1AM.

Love me some coffee humor :-) Check out this group for Coffee Lovers too!

7. don't make tea-drinkers your enemies. They're zen but they'll kick your butt :)

8. Leave the giant conglomerates and try out some local coffee shops in your neighbourhood.

9. Coffee goes with EVERYTHING.

Oh yeah, having freshly ground beans really does make all the difference. OK, I can agree with 2-5, but #1 is like saying cheese doesn't make eggs better or pepper doesn't improve beef. Real milk, real sugar, it only improves on the original coffee flavor IMO!

If you absolutely MUST use some form of "creamer", avoid powders, non-dairy crud, and milk. Half/Half is the ONLY thing you should use if you just can't take the coffee black.
I've tried 2% milk and while it is good in the morning cereal, it just won't do in coffee.

Experiment with your beans; by this, I mean you have a favorite or you wouldn't be drinking coffee in the first place. Try different varieties to see if you can find a new favorite.

And, if you ARE using non-dairy creamer, make SURE it's CoffeeMate on a front stoop in Hawai'i Kai eaten dry (no coffee) with a great friend! The best un-food eating experience EVER next to Malted Milk Balls in Pennsylvania (haven't touched 'em SINCE - just wouldn't be the same, I was 3 or 4 years old).

And if you can afford it get yourself an Italian brand fully automatic coffee machine. It is a dream come true for a coffee addict. Hey coffee is good for you so more coffee........

Go with Airborne coffee! Take a 48 cup urn of coffee and boil it down to 6 cups. Guaranteed to be the ultimate coffee experience.
