Remember when Brazen Careerist had blue, two-toned headshots for all it members? If you were one of our earliest adopters you probably do.
You sent us a headshot, a bio and a link to your RSS feed before we even allowed you to have an account. Once you were set up, you had to email us again if you wanted anything changed.
What were we thinking?!
Fall 2008-when we first launched
Not to say that I don't like it now, I do...it's freaking awesome and you have all done a phenominal job, however I kind of miss the days when we would have to e-mail you everything...
It gave us closer ties to you guys, and made us, the early adopters, feel like we were part of an uber-special club. For me that was one of the coolest aspects of it. Plus the fact that we were chosen by you all because you thought that we represented the core of what you stood for. With the increasing "social network" aspect of it (and the increasing popularity), it seems to have gotten more convoluted and the over all quality of the bloggers seems to have decreased and gotten less professional. Don't get me wrong the featured posts are always great, but those not featured have truly dropped a few steps.
Either way, the site is great and I remain extremely honored to have been contacted by you over a year ago. You all deserve a round of drinks for the amount of time and hardwork that I know you have poured into this, I'm sure being able to see your baby grow like it is a dream come true. Next time you all are in Dallas, a round is on me.
Hey Daniel,
Thanks! I'm going to hold you to those drinks :)
I'll always miss the early days of Brazen Careerist too. But I feel pretty lucky to still have strong ties with our earlier members. Including yourself.
Never hesitate to send feedback to us. I think James Moreau (our new editor) is doing an excellent job picking featured posts, but he could always use some constructive feedback from a long-time Brazen Careerist like yourself.
Send him a Private Message sometime and let him know what you'd like to see more of. Here's a link to his profile:
