Holy cow, this online dating thing is a serious time commitment.
On a daily basis you have to weed through possible matches, send winks, write e-mails, respond to e-mails and try to be witty, charming and just be yourself without getting fussy at the same time. This could be a full-time job!
Fortunately, since my initial Match.com phone call Read this author's blog.
Jessica, good on you for giving online dating a shot. You certainly are brave for doing it. Fantastic!
I think dating in general is just a lot of work. So many impressions to make, things to plan..no matter if it's online or otherwise.
I do agree that the guy should plan the date if he did the asking. it would only make sense. Plus, to me that makes a better impression than leaving it all to me. I'm a planner, and really independent, but once in a while it's nice for someone else to do the planning and leave me to look nice :)
Good luck with this experience. Keep up posted on how it goes.
Ugh, dating is SO hard. Many of my married or at least coupled friends comment frequently to me that while the grass might be greener occasionally on the single side, there's no way on earth they'd trade their bad coupley moments for a second of the agony of the dating rat race!
As for the planning, I am so irritated by situations like this. I'm not a very patient person (though I am very indecisive, I will note this is a serious problem, I should probably seek counseling...) First dates are evil enough, why add the stress of any one party having to do ALL the planning? You came up with some ideas, asked for his input, and he decided you should do everything? Hrmm...seems to be very indicative of future planning conversations...

Online dating can become very time-consuming especially if you're on a dating site that is hard to navigate. My suggestion is to join one that is very user-friendly and offers better features than the average 'wink' and 'email'. One that offers unique and user-friendly services is called TheHotSpotGuide.com.

Online dating is like regular dating. It takes quite a bit of work and effort to meet quality singles in real life. Unless you are in college, you would probably only meet 2 quality singles in a week and that too if you are actively looking. Same holds true for online dating.
