My wanderings as a twenty-something young professional have led me to many a dark, cramped corner of the District.
I lived in DC for almost three years (just left this past fall), and you are SO on the money. I nodded and smiled at the slurred political speeches I would be given at bars and move on. Slurring diatribes aren't very attractive, especially when you just asked to be passed a napkin. I eventually learned to just bar hop in Virginia, practically a whole different country from the cultural shift.

I go to grad school there, worked as an intern for my congressman for a summer during college and currently do everything I can to stay away from that scene, you are on the money for sure.
I chose to live out of town and yeah the bars here are much better.lol
