I’ve lived long enough to have learned
The closer you get to the fire,
the more you get burned.
But that won’t happen to us…

I went to a friend’s house this weekend for some much-needed downtime. We hung around their small fire pit in the backyard and told stories of reminisce

What in the world does this have to do with careers? This is self-indulgent, narcissistic navel gazing at its absolute worst. Who cares if this "twenty-something" loser thinks she's guarded with her so-called friends? Get over yourself, Susan Pogorzelski.
Brazen feeds each blog into their network, then selects posts which they think people might relate to for their front page. My blog is based on both personal & career development, emphasis on personal.
I would gladly relate this to career development for you -- they actually go hand in hand.
If you can't communicate clearly, and with tact, and if you can't be comfortable with other people, especially those with whom you work and are supposed to trust, can you have a truly satisfying career? One needs to learn to depend on another person. One needs to learn independence as well as partnership, learning to lean on others to complete assignments for the benefit of the job and the company. In short, one needs to learn how to trust another person and work together as a team.
Kind of like a friendship, no?
You can learn something from everything if you look deep enough. Next time, please take a moment before jumping to conclusions about another person -- or blog post.
