I put a lot of myself "out there" - between this blog, twitter, and facebook, I'm fairly active on the internet. I remember when the internet kind of boomed when I was in high school and everyone was so paranoid about putting personal stuff like pictures online. Now we can bank, pay bills, book trips, etc. online like it's nothing.

I've had a blog since 2005 when I first moved to B.C. I didn't start it so people could really keep track of me, I just did it to keep my hands busy and blow off some steam. And then it was myspace, and yadda yadda, here we are on blogger.

I'm still not sure what my attraction is to blogging. I've never been one to shy away from telling all, considering I have worked as a radio host - I'm used to it.

I've tried to keep a good ol' fashioned journal, but I've never been able to stick with it. I think it's because my brain outruns my hand. I can't write my thoughts fast enough. But with the blog and an 80 wpm speed, I'm laughing.

I do keep a lot of things back though. I feel a lot of my relationship stuff should be kept private. Sure, I'll talk about stuff me and Graham do, or how much I love him, but I don't feel the need to put all the ugly details of sex, arguments, and such into print, online, for all the world to see.

I also try to keep work stuff vague. The thing with the internet is everyone is on it. I don't know who reads my blog. I don't know if my friends read it, I don't know if my coworkers read it. I don't even want to know. Sure I can blog about being frustrated with work, but I sure as hell am not going to mention who pissed me off in a day. Yeesh. Can you imagine?

I think what a lot of people don't understand about me and my blogging is that, bottom line, it's something I do for myself. It's totally self serving. I'm flattered that people read it and comment on it, but I'm not in it for that. I'm just happy to have my own little corner of the internet to write about whatever I feel like - whether it's personal stuff, or my take on something that's going on in the world, whatever.

Still - I can't stress enough that I appreciate everyone who reads me, whether it's on a regular basis, or just someone who finds me randomly. I'm thankful people read this blog even if it is just something I do just because...

Don't have much to add, except to say that I can totally 100% relate to this post. My blog strategy, if you can call it that, is pretty much the same. I don't even look at my traffic! Good to know there are others like me.

I have a private blog and a blog that is monetized. So of course my views would be different for each blog that I have, right? No!! That's the funny thing about that, even on my private blog which is where I write about my life and things that are going on in it at certain times. It's really my journal and sometimes there are things in our journal that we don't want other people to see or know about us so we try to keep out those things in our lives. My monetized blog of course I want "everyone" to read it and comment on it and although I try to keep who I "really" am a little private to the WWW one must tell a little about oneself.Because after all I'm promoting a blog in hopes that people will read, comment and even purchase anything that I might be selling at certain times. On this monetized blog I also like to keep my private life a little vague if only for my own piece of mind and privacy. But I think no matter how much we all try to keep things private or vague in our writings a little bit of our "real personality" comes out. I think that's what so great about blogging and the internet it's such a great way to connect or get things off our chest and you can make money from blogging to, that's another plus. What more can one ask for? Right?!

Okay, really? I feel like you took this post directly out of my head. Particularly this: "I think it's because my brain outruns my hand. I can't write my thoughts fast enough."

I keep telling myself that I should keep a REAL journal, because I too am guarded with certain things online (mostly to respect other people's privacy) and I worry that not having a tell-all journal will be something I regret later.

Maybe we should have Word document journals, haha?
