Making a living as a design freelancer can be tough. There are plenty ups and downs, seasons when you’re slammed with work and seasons when you’ll browse endless wanted ads in Craigslist. This time around though, I’ve noticed the news and it has been evident around me that it has become hard to find a job. Who’s to blame? The economy.

Nice post. Yes we have to forgive the economy as far as its teaching us something wise and important. For the first time in years we realized - living beyond our means has its consequences. First time in 25 years our savings rate have gone high our credit card debts have flattened.

Yes this is extremely hard for people who are loosing job, house etc. but when we come out on the other side of the tunnel... we will learn our lessons (hopefully) and we will forgive the economy when we will look back.

Thanks for your comment. I think we will definitely look back and hopefully have learned from it all. Personally, I just want peace in my life and I'm learning that peace is not circumstantial but rather internal. It's kind of a hard concept to grasp but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Raphael, brilliant post! I've never even thought about forgiving the economy. Just letting go of all that negative energy and the stream of negative thoughts that come with thinking about the current economic pace.

There is always at least one lesson in every failure. There are several lessons that we have--or should have--learned from our recent experiences.

“Disappointments are inevitable, misery is optional.”

Quite simply, I love that.

Thank you for reminding us to do something that I'm sure most of us never even thought about.

Thanks for your comment Leandra! Ever since I heard that quote, I keep it in mind when challenging situations present themselves in my life. It's a priceless gem.
