Robert Samuelson of Newsweek is puzzled as to why the Obama administration is biased against the oil and natural gas industries. Yet in the same breath he explains why someone might be weary of drilling on US soil:

“…None of these sources, of course, will quickly provide oil or natural gas… Extracting oil from shale (in

You are misrepresenting Samuelson's arguments.

He says that President Obama justifies his bias against the oil and gas industries by claiming that investments in solar and wind energy will 1) produce more jobs and help pull the US out of recession, 2) reduce the amount of oil imported by the US, and 3) reduce the effects of global warming. I'm fairly certain that all of these claims have, in fact, been made by the Obama administration.

Samuelson then explains why investments in oil and gas would be more effective in achieve objectives 1) and 2) above, while 3) could be achieved with other policy decisions, e.g. higher fuel efficiency standards. You may have evidence showing these arguments to be incorrect, but you have not presented it here.

You may also believe that the harmful effects of global warming are far more important than creating jobs or reducing oil imports, but this is not the argument Samuelson is addressing. Obama has specifically stated that creating jobs and reducing imports are important goals associated with energy policy, and Samuelson is showing why railing against the oil and gas industry is not necessarily the best way to achieve those goals.

Instead of addressing what Samuelson wrote, you set up a silly strawman argument and tore it apart. You also ridiculed his physical appearance for no apparent reason.

Investing in a part of the economy that is growing (my company included) is going to create jobs. We built a location to build solar products; therefore we have created 40 jobs now and even more in the future; just in our location, not to mention the means and men to build the location, invest in the R&D on the products and start small companies to sell and continue the manufacturing line.
Because people are trying to cut down on wastes, spending and over-consumption, green energy is becoming popular. Therefore, there is a demand. With a demand, jobs will be created and money will be spent. Plus, we will be saving our environment.

It is important to note that the government had to invest in solar, wind and H20 energy for it to even begin to unfold. So continuing to invest in the production and R&D of these products is vital for our entire world. Over time they will become more available, cheaper (remember when a flat screen giant tv was $5000? Now under $2500), and more efficient.

Duh!
