I don't intend to justify my being currently unemployed but I will say a few words to allay my mother's fears that I have lost direction in my life and will very soon be asking her for a weekly allowance again like I used to do when I was in college. Wait, I didn't get allowances in college! But whatever.
Here goes:
I have worked for six years straight. I have never taken a vacation that lasted for more than a week. I have sent my sisters to college and financed the building of my parent's house. For nearly three years, I tried to make a marriage work while juggling a career and working nights, trying to prove my worth to bosses, friends and family.
I think a month off from the corporate world is something I deserve, if not something I really need. Mom, please cut me some slack.
I know my mom is just worried about me. She worries about the clothes I wear so it is only natural that she will worry about my future. I love my mom but seriously, she doesn't have to worry about me asking money from her although I am sure she will adopt me (even if I am legally her daughter) for 30 days and let me stay in her house and feed me.
She doesn't have to worry about me asking for money because I already took care of that. I mean, my sisters who have jobs will take care of that.
So, what do I do in the next thirty days? I'm making a list. Spending the money I saved might be at the bottom of that list.
P.S. Contrary to popular opinion, I didn't quit my job to work full time on my blog because without a job, I won't be able to pay for internet connection to keep my blog running. I will beg my sisters pay for the internet connection, too.
P.P.S. Donations welcome. I will emote for food...or comments.
