This post is an entry into Jamie Varon’s contest answering her tag line: “that place where work, love, and life all meet and you wonder “where the hell do I go from here?”".
When we are little kids, balancing work, love, and life is pretty easy. Work consists of going to school, “love” is as simple as having your best friend ask the girl/boy who sits next to you in class if they will “go out with you” and life is all about playing kickball at recess. As we get older, things become more complicated. Soon we are getting after school jobs, our relationships become more serious and we are trying to make time for friends between it all.
By the time we graduate college and are thrown into the “real world” we are expected to instantly know how to work a 40+ hour week, find or keep a significant other and maintain a personal life. And as technology continues to improve the line between work, love and life becomes increasingly blurred. You get texts from friends and family while you are at work and receive work emails to your blackberry while you are at home. Soon every area of our life feels intersected and we are left wondering “where the hell do I go from here?”.
It would be great if there were a traffic light at this intersection of work, love, and life allowing us to focus on one area at a time. Instead, it’s up to us to find the right balance in our lives. So maybe the truth is we don’t “go” anywhere from here. Maybe we just do our best to improve in each part of our life and try not wear ourselves out along the way.
By finding balance in all aspects of our lives we can make sure there’s not a collision at that place where work, love, and life all meet.

haha this post was just an entrance into Jamie's contest, wasn't expecting it to get featured.
Note to Jamie: I think getting it featured on Brazen should make it the winner :)
