To me, this post is an interesting 180 degree turn from Jonathan Mead's "Why Trying To Be Productive Is A Huge Waste Of Time" because this post is suggesting that a person becomes something of a productivity machine. I wonder if people have the sort of discipline to take either approach to the extreme. A person is way more complicated than a company.
I think this piece has a great point. I don't know that any of us really think through every step of the process but we are essentialy "operating" our life and taking the consequences with each decision we make. Like in business, some decisions have simple direct effects and others produce much more complex results. Even if we don't take the time to write out our lives exactly as a business plan, having goals and a direction make getting from point a to b in life easier.
I think this is a great post because it poses many questions and makes you think. You do not have to answer all of them, but taking the time to think about these points, how you can answer them and apply what you learn from the answers to your life is extremely valuable. Thank you for providing a great sringboard!
