It could easily be argued that one of the major themes of 2008 was the emergence of Gen Y in the corporate world and the ruckus we caused in all sorts of ways.

Social media? As a CIO, the only thing right now I can think of when someone mentions social media is Koobface.

Actually, our IT Security guru is trying to track down what was lifted off a number of systems that were "Koobfaced". Sales, HR, and Marketing were hacked through Koobface, and we are still trying to assess magnitude of the damage.
Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but since these
individuals bypassed corporate network security, thanks in part to hacks they learned on LifeHacker.Com, they have been terminated with prejuduce, as per the Information Security agreement they signed when hired.
I'm thinking about it, because the losses are now in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and possible loss of proprietary information that is the foundation of the company.
