Forget the hot chocolate. Look at her hands. But the thing is that I don't tell you to look at her hands. you do it, instinctively. We judge people by their hands. If someone bites their nails or have rough, calloused hands, the person looks like he or she does not have a grip. You want your hands to be innocuous. Nervous picking gives away a lack of confidence. So if you can, get a nervous habit that doesn't broadcast itself on bad hands.

Like hell. Rough calloused hands tell of a lifetime of hard manual labor, of craftsmanship learned the old fashioned way, of years and decades of work that has gone from raw materials to useful items, some of which could be described as works of art. Don't give me this crap that calloused hand indicate that someone doesn't have a grip. They've probably got a better grip on the reality of life than you do.

This is the time of year when, every time the phone rings here at Veritas Prep HQ, there's a good chance it's an applicant calling to ask us if he should apply to business school in the third admissions round, or if he should wait until next year. The answer, as is the answer for most things in life, is "It depends."

When I embarked on my blog journey last December, I thought of it as just an extension of who I was, professionally and personally. I also looked at the blog as a way of being creative. It’s become more than that to me and those of you that read this. My blog is now part of my personal brand.
