It’s the time of year when a large amount of your coworkers can be found running around giving holiday cards and gifts to other coworkers. It’s enough to give you flashbacks to grade school on Valentine’s day when you sat at your desk wondering how many Valentine’s you would receive. Just like back then there are going to be times when you see Susie Q give a gift to what feels like everyone but you.
Don’t take it personally. - There are many reasons why you may not get a gift from a certain someone. Some people can’t afford to get something for everyone. Or they gave a few extra gifts outside of their team do help someone gave them on a project that you may not know about. Or they weren’t sure what to get you.
Move on - Then again it could be because that person just doesn’t like you. If that is the case then you need to just move on. You probably already know you didn’t have a good relationship so why did you expect this person to pretend that you do? Be thankful that you don’t end up with a trinket that you won’t like but will have to hang on to forever or candies that are going to add on pounds.
Be better - If you really want to feel good then don’t be this person yourself. Why don’t you get everyone a gift or card? Don’t do it out of spite. Do it because you want to treat others the way you wish to be treated.
Or you could just go home and drink some eggnog and feel sorry for yourself. It’s your choice.

Or you could just do what my friend did this holiday season ... buy all his employees Mr. Potato Head dolls. Effective enough at delivering a bit of humor, but not something that would disappoint you if you didn't get one.
