Thanks Ryan, that was a really insightful post. I just started my blog (The Writerbabe Series) a few months ago - I like to muse about the absurdities in the workplace, professional aspirations and living life in the 21st century. I was recently told I had a "branding problem" - but I think my brand/name suits me just fine :-)
I really enjoy it when writers take two seemingly unconnected ideas and join them together to explain a point (or better illustrate an often discussed topic. I will keep your blog in mind for more ideas as well as inspiration!

I just started my own blog and am trying to employ all the techniques you have listed here. It is a lot of work, but that's why I think it's so important to be blogging about something you are passionate about, otherwise it will just come off as insincere pandering. I am excited about each and every reader that logs on and am grateful for their interest. I am curious to see what other new (and experienced) bloggers have to say.
