I've found that not taking your own hype too seriously is a great way to keep your creativity going. When you take a compliment too seriously, it can really hinder incoming creative thoughts because you're too focused on your old ideas!

Even if you don't agree with the feedback, it's also important to pay close attention to the underlying issue(s). Unfortunately, it's too easy to discount comments just because you don't agree with them and that can keep you from addressing negative perceptions.

Feedback can be hard to take, especially if it is not constructive. If the feedback is genuine then take it into consideration, if not still consider it.
