Great post. I like the theme working on your business and not in it.
Trust is a hard thing to have with new employees when you are used to the quality of work you produce. That is why most small businesses fail to get to that next larger step, they are scared to give trust to someone else. Right now I am in that same boat, and I think it is because we hired a few people that are not quite ready for the spotlight. It's tough, but so is business.

I really enjoyed your post. I agree that these are all ways that you can lose passion for your business. At times, I have found myself with a lack of self discipline, but I've learned from my mistakes. I work at a staffing company, Hollister (www.hollisterstaff.com) where I will be sure to share this with my co-workers. It is so very important to feel passionate about your job.

Great post. I just started my business, and it's a business of one! I haven't used one contractor yet, but I'm sure that day will come. Thanks for the advice though, especially the bit about competing on price.
