Great point. For so long I existed in the blogosphere in my own world — before I finally "got it" that I needed to start commenting and interacting with other bloggers. People don't just show up if there's good content — they need to be directed there! :)

Thank you for this article. I think it was the article that definitely pushed me to start interacting and actually making a plan for my own blog, which I have yet to start (but thanks to you, I'm much closer to the end result).
I have been reading about 20 blogs almost daily, though I never comment and participate. So thank you again. PS: I love your entries on this blog.

The link is pretty great, and thanks again, but really it was this post (and your discussion of it before it went up) that made me re-think my blog approach and actually sort of change my tactics. Well, I knew I needed a change but I couldn't put my finger on it. I like the idea of the conversation. I'm still trying to figure out how to apply it. You do a great job of it already, but we're talking about different things.
So as always keep up the good work!

Thank you for the comments everyone!
@Teresa- When we started Life Before Noon, we just thought if we had great content then people would start reading. Not true! It takes commenting, extending yourself to build traffic. Thanks for the comment! ps- love your site!
@Ana-Thank you for your nice words, your comment means so much to me. I always love to read new blogs, so I hope you start yours soon! Feel free to email me.
@Ben-Thanks! I believe the blog topics can be very different, but the idea of a "conversation" in blogging and Web 2.0 is the same. Keep up the good work!

Love the last line! Blogging is just as challenging, if not more so, than real world relationships. At least in the real world, I might run into you at the coffee shop and we can catch up there. But online, you have to seek people out. You have to join the conversation.
Stop using your companies pre-printed thank you notes. Hand write a thank you note! Hand writing is much more personal and it shows you care. More...
