And so I stood in the line.  Paperwork in hand. Eyes forward. My right leg anxious to step forward in line.

Hi,

I live in Bristol, UK. From over the pond, I can tell you that people are more than eager for Obama to be elected President.

Personally, I find him to be the most inspirational leader, both in the black community and in the developed world, that we have had for many a year. He brings a wave of hope and energy; if America is wise, it will elect him.

His political reach goes beyond American shores. He is a leader for both America and the world. He will reinvigorate both the lower classes and the political classes. He will energise collaborative government and private citizens.

I have no doubt that in the enthusiasm that has built following his cries for hope and change, that people's expectations are too high. I have no doubt that he will change position on a number of his promises. I also have no doubt that the darky and murky world of White House politics is yet to reveal itself in full, to either Obama or McCain, and that he will find it tougher to lead change, if he makes office, than he anticipates.

But even if he adjusts his position and lowers people's expectations, he will be in a more positive and inspirational place than McCain.

As a black guy, I am of course proud to see him setting the standard. However, that isn't what matters. What matters is that he is the right choice - black, white, or a little green man.

Go for it, America. The rest of the world is ready to respect you again.

Inspiring!

I voted absentee, and I was so excited to get the ballot and find Obama's name. It was so exciting! It's such a big deal to see that the idea of the American dream can be accessible to individuals who came here on slave ships. I love it! So exciting. I was just thinking this morning, after looking at a picture of a little Black boy waving the American flag, how wonderful it is to be part of the dream.

That was really good Robin. I appreciate you for representing everything that we were taught. I know that you know your family, our teachers, and the your professors are proud of you.
However I will like to personally let you know that on behave of your peers we are proud of you too.

I probably got some typos or incomplete sentences up there too but you know that's your job to red ink me. I aint mad. :-)

I've been back in town for about two months now and I'm having an Obama celebration on election night downtown at Scripts. Check the myspace for a flyer. Hope you can make it.

Peace, love, and ultimately respect,

Amber Walls

This is the time of year when, every time the phone rings here at Veritas Prep HQ, there's a good chance it's an applicant calling to ask us if he should apply to business school in the third admissions round, or if he should wait until next year. The answer, as is the answer for most things in life, is "It depends."

Personal Branding

When I embarked on my blog journey last December, I thought of it as just an extension of who I was, professionally and personally. I also looked at the blog as a way of being creative. It’s become more than that to me and those of you that read this. My blog is now part of my personal brand.
