Here’s the truth: some things are better when they’re complex. I truly believe that. So for today, let’s embrace the things in life that can’t (and maybe shouldn’t) be simplified.
I want to hear from you: what are three things in your life that you don’t want to simplify? What do you prefer when it’s complicated?
Here we go:

1. Astronomy and the Universe. There is nothing I like more than the uncertainity and chaos concerning Universe, but yet I am fascinated by the neat and orderly Laws of Physics that seem to govern it. I like the contradictions and the Unknown aspect and the part of the study that can come up with rules to govern something so vast.
2. Relationships. Most people dread complicated relationships, but I always have been drawn to complicated and mysterious types. I like the challenge, I like to try and piece the puzzle together and the fact that one is rarely if ever bored of complicated people.
3. Baking. I enjoy precise measurements and timing, but I like how in terms of design and ingredients each person can add a bit of personal flair. For instance, most people don't like carrot cake, but I leave out the walnuts and substitute white chocolate chips instead and put a little key lime in the frosting. You can totally tell I am starving right now.

Here goes...
1. Guitar lines: Lately I've gotten into listening to and learning to play complicated parts with a lot of movement and speed technique. This is a HUGE change for me because I listened to nothing but 3-chord punk rock for years. I guess everybody grows up at some point...if that's what you call it. :)
2. Romantic relationships: I've never liked the easy ones. They are too boring. Make it storybook, full of overcomplicated emotion, plot twists, and bittersweet endings.
3. Puzzles (and not the jigsaw kind): They just aren't worth the effort if they are too simple to solve.

Guitar chords... that's a good one. I always wanted to learn how to play. I assumed it would be something like piano, which I have been playing for years. I was completely mistaken. I lack the motor skills necessary to play the guitar, so I gave it up and took on the role of lead vocalist.
