I have to admit, my time has been limited and I’ve been coming home exhausted from work. I have many different posts ready to start or complete but I haven’t had the energy to write something worthwhile. And if anybody knows when I put out crap, it is my readers. So I have chosen to not post instead of giving you sub-par performance (you’re welcome, by the way).

Great post, Lance. The ideas you mention seem so simple and easy to put into practice, but I can guarantee they aren't happening at most companies. When something terrible like this happens, the first thing companies should think about are there employees. Unfortunately it's up to HR and the rest of the leaders who actually "get it" to force the issue, because all too often, people are not priority #1. Especially in hard times.

This is the time of year when, every time the phone rings here at Veritas Prep HQ, there's a good chance it's an applicant calling to ask us if he should apply to business school in the third admissions round, or if he should wait until next year. The answer, as is the answer for most things in life, is "It depends."

Personal Branding

There has been a great deal written about how to engage with social media to establish a name for yourself online, but a commonly overlooked piece of the puzzle is also one of the simplest: owning your own domain name. A domain name complements the rest of your online presence through branding using yourname.com or a similar variation.
