Lea: Good for you! Today is certainly a you day. Take time today to reflect and remember. Days like today shouldn't be tainted by the work that can be done tomorrow.
I'm back in New Jersey right now visiting family and friends, but I'm sitting at my laptop. Makes me think I need to prioritize better. I'll only be here for a few days, but the work I'm doing isn't going anywhere.

Saying "no" is a very important skill, and it's not always an easy one to acquire. But in my experience, it's harder to start saying it than it is to continue saying it when you need to.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I lost mine almost five years ago as well, and I miss her all the time.

Good job Lea. I realized the same thing a few days ago when we were taking on projects that were too time consuming to make someone else fat, rich and lazy. I love my clients and that's what I want to focus on, yet sometimes you need a few minutes for yourself!
Sorry to hear about your mom, I'm in a similiar boat. Staying positive that you are becoming a great person because of her is reason enough to keep me strong!

Thanks all for the support. I had the same kinds of comments on my own blog too which is *so* what I needed to hear.
Getting your priorities right seems to be one of those things in life - we all know what they *should* be or even are, it's just making them the priority in practice, that can be the challenge!
I'm still waiting to hear from the people that I said "no" to...whatever they say however won't change a thing. The feeling of relief and freedom I've had since saying "no" has been immense and I know even more now I've done it, that it was the right thing to do.
