Hey Sara - word up to this post - you are officially a Rebel Zen Master.

The lesson i've learned in my 29 years of living is that the more simple you want something, the more work it takes to get there. I saw a show called "Tougher in Alaska" on the history channel. There was an individual that lived 320 miles outside of Juneau - lived in a log cabin, ate what he hunted, warmed his house with the wood he cut, and tilled a garden. Life can't get more simple than this man has it...but look at all the work it takes to keep it simple. He has to drive into Juneau to get his mail - that's like a weekend trip just to get mail. My point here is that we all define our own "simple" and it takes a lot of work to get there...and once we are there, a lot of work to maintain it. Seems ironic doesn't it.

One of the biggest keys to this is learning to say no, and learning to say it decisively but diplomatically. You can't do everything, and that's okay. This applies to work, family, and friends.
