You remember the story of the stone soup, right? A stranger comes to a very poor village, but no one has enough food to spare for his dinner. So he gathers everyone in the town circle with a tale of his magic stone, capable of making the most delicious soup.

Thanks for the link! I firmly believe that you can be very cool, very kickass, and a total dork. (I once hung out with Cory Doctorow for a day in Toronto, before he got all famous. The guy embodies that vibe!)

Dorks unite!

I couldn't have said it better myself! Passion is definitely the key to accomplishing almost anything, including a great blog. I'm glad I listened to my passion when selecting a topic for my blog...It can be tempting to merely go with what will be most profitable in a monetary sense, but often we forget that there are greater benefits to be reaped in life other than money.

No matter what you’re cooking you have to be passionate about it. You can get away with a lack of passion and have things taste okay, but they never taste great.

One of the most important rules in blogging is to write about what you’re passionate about. If there’s no flare for writing about politics, don’t write about politics. Stick to what you’re good at and you’re bound to do great things.

I always thought being a dork was pretty bad-ass too. ;-) Great post and thanks for the link-love.

This is the time of year when, every time the phone rings here at Veritas Prep HQ, there's a good chance it's an applicant calling to ask us if he should apply to business school in the third admissions round, or if he should wait until next year. The answer, as is the answer for most things in life, is "It depends."

Personal Branding

When I embarked on my blog journey last December, I thought of it as just an extension of who I was, professionally and personally. I also looked at the blog as a way of being creative. It’s become more than that to me and those of you that read this. My blog is now part of my personal brand.
