Hi Ryan,
Thank you for bringing to my attention a title I didn't know existed. I read your link to readwriteweb.com and have a better understanding of the title. I think your position as community manager is especially important to a community focused company such as BC but I'm not so sure about some other companies. It may explain why a company may not have a community manager position but rather have the same duties done by various people in the PR department for example. On the other hand the community manager position may eventually come into being with these companies with time. It's an interesting position with duties custom tailored and very much subject to change depending on the business sector and company.
