But # 2: Stop overanalyzing things is also great since I typically don't even think of time spent overanalyzing as wasted until I look at the clock and realize I've spent the entire day thinking of what I was supposed to do.

Ironically, my last laptop died just as I was backing-up the final version of my dissertation. Luckily, the only thing I lost was the updates to 120 pages of footnotes, but it still hurt.
Now, I never forget to back-up everything in multiple places - especially when I'm halfway through an annoying, time-consuming, tedious task!

#10: Backup your data!
This one stands out to me. Especially in the last two months.
First, my dog ate my laptop (really).
Then, I had my backup stolen out of my car.
It's been a hell of a few months and unfortunately I didn't consistently back up everything I should have.
It all worked out in the end, but I wasted a lot of time.
