4 RESPONSES TO "DON’T MAKE CAREER PLANS – HERE’S WHY"

"If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there."
I think goals are great and worthy--if you pursue things in life you find interesting and challenging, you'll probably end up in a pretty good place--perhaps in a position you never even knew existed, but one that you love.
Take the road that excites you, one you find interesting and yes, even challenging. If you keep your eyes open, You'll discover new paths as you go along that you might want to take.
Yes, life does happen while you're busy making other plans, but you have try to go somewhere in life...otherwise you're leaving it up to the world to choose a life for you.
Hey, it turns out I'm the man of your dreams (even though I'm too busy for even my own relationship). Does that mean I'm supposed to do something now or will any road just take me there?
By the way, when comparing love to careers, why not compare it to investing in a portfolio? Diversify your holdings... it's the only way to go. For these and other outside the box thoughts, stay tuned.
The most important thing I've lived by with regards to careers lately is: never close doors.
I like to keep all of my options open. If I can improve my situation with levels of risk I can handle then sometimes I just have to jump in. If something doesn't work out, it's no big deal there's always someone walking out the next door you want to walk through.
And, just out of curiousity, does England have gangs (which use knives instead of guns), a massive drug problem, people who think the world owes them something, and/or open borders? If so, I might give up my right to bear arms and move across the pond.

Jestfully,
