2 RESPONSES TO "PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE: OVERRATED"
Yvette
"Real happiness comes from living life right now." I just finished a book about the philosophy of the Dali Lama, and he pretty much says the same thing ... like the point of life is to enjoy happiness. Finding happiness isn't so easy, in a complex world where work is necessary to survive, and good paying jobs are hard to find. Still, happiness can be found in doing laundry, holding a baby, eating beautiful food, or a walk even in the rain. I still plan, although not as much as I used to, because my plans are like a road map, of where I *might* be traveling to. (Good to have, but stay flexible.) Find out what brings you peace, and that feeling of warmth that makes you smile, and enjoy the happiness you can, along the way. Great reminders. Thank you, for posting this.
I have to agree with the above and post another 'thank you' for this post. My mind has always been one step ahead of my actions and I'm just now starting to learn how to live life in the moment and be happy. I do have to throw a caution to the wind, though: Don't let current happiness get in the way of daily or long term goals. There needs to be a good mix of being happy in the moment and still reaching toward your goals...even if they do change along the road.
