Your brand cannot hide from Google (The Cover Story of Personal Branding Magazine last month). Every move you make online is kept in search engines and the only ones that can be removed are those that you create yourself.

Great post, Dan. The importance also relates to those with common names that would like THEIR brand associated with THEIR name.

Before I started branding myself for Google, I remember running across a site for a different Adam Salamon that got arrested for underage drinking.....that wasn't even me!

You and Adam say it like it is: can't hide from Google, brand yourself right for your own protection!

This is the time of year when, every time the phone rings here at Veritas Prep HQ, there's a good chance it's an applicant calling to ask us if he should apply to business school in the third admissions round, or if he should wait until next year. The answer, as is the answer for most things in life, is "It depends."

When I embarked on my blog journey last December, I thought of it as just an extension of who I was, professionally and personally. I also looked at the blog as a way of being creative. It’s become more than that to me and those of you that read this. My blog is now part of my personal brand.
